thetaS stand

i scratched the lenses of my previous Ricoh Theta 360 camera when the burst of wind tipped over it on the concrete 🙁 it was an expensive lesson I learned so for the new model ThetaS i made a custom build table top stand for it. the new camera itself is great by the way 🙂

i made several variation of the fit and decided to give just enough snug space when the camera is inserted so the new rubbery surface won’t be stretched. the base is just narrow enough that bottom view still reveals a sliver of the base itself but easy to post process later. giving enough wall & bottom thickness + 20% infill added enough weight for stabilization. 0.8mm printing tip is definitely the way to go if you are building something robust and don’t need to capture small details. colorFabb adheres so well with 0.8mm printing tip and still archives relatively smooth surface for “fast” print setting.

my friends with thetaS also requested one so they are all ready after overnight printing. Ultimaker machines are so pretty under the soft morning sun…
