next step! import hair geometry from Tilt Brush to maya. spending my quality hours building a 3d print ready mesh while checking out maya2017 new features 🙂
I used TB in VR mostly to visualize the over all scale and hair volume & “swoop” on his hair in life size. However I didn’t use exact exported hair mesh from TB because I still have to remodel for print-friendly mesh anyway. As a general guide for direction and bow shapes of individual hair petals, I used TB’s exported mesh as projection planes. If I modeled his hair procedural or array mesh (like an artichoke), I think it would have spent more time turning a perfect geometry into organic & hand-crafted look in the movie. I’m a good modeler but TB helped me get to this point fast for this particular hair design.
