dragon v2

Determined to learn how to print the dragon!

I experimented with more support  structures and useing brim in Cura to anchor supporting rods. I had several un-even thickness brims and that caused the support rods to shift. Re-calibrated build plate made a good solid even brim now. So, never rush, it’s still a piece of mechanical hardware I’m dealing with. Just like I tune my sewing machine, I am now pay same attention to the 3D printer.

I print often in low to normal res. Why? I know I can print beautiful surface with Ultimaker 2 but my focus is fast turn around during prototyping, I like working rough first and tweak printing parameters for faster printing. Also it helps give me an understanding of where to put details and adjustments to the 3D model depending on the printing quality which can make a world of difference. I haven’t even explored the different materials yet, so I’m looking forward to learn more. I just want to be familiar with PLA for now (especially this turquoise spool…).
