After 100 hrs 25mis on printing time, 341.70m of PLA, 2 months of weekends and burning the midnight oil for several days, absolutely no social life and thanks EJ for taking care of everything else… I wrapped Rocket Raccoon game style costume. I am very happy with the result and friends enjoyed my costume again this year. Mission complete.

Printing something this large felt good. 3D printing is called “rapid prototyping” but I still feel it takes long time to print. I will keep exploring ways to shorten printing time smartly without compromising the design and structure. Now I know my next agenda is to tinker with gcode and tryout different slicers. I use Cura came with UM2 but didn’t realize there are many slicing software out there. Would I do this again? Of course! I may have to use bigger printer… but UM2 is great for me and am looking into 2nd machine for different tasks. Something is cooking in my head now after a good night sleep after I turned off our porch light on Halloween night.

*During that time I even manage to squeeze East Bay Mini Maker Faire booth to show my previous costume and RR in progress. I enjoyed talking to maker kids and parents. Thank you
